John Muller
Chief Executive Officer

EXECUTIVE DUTIES

  • Mr. Muller co-owns and operates SECURITY SERVICES ASIA LTD - a subsidiary of SPECTRUM OSO ASIA LTD.
  • From Bangkok’s regional headquarters’ office, John Muller oversees all the sensitive daily liaisons with SPECTRUM OSO ASIA and its large client base.
  • Resident in Thailand for 22 years, Mr. Muller is tasked to develop and sustain relationships with companies - both multinationals and SME's - pertaining to ALL areas of today's security issues, whether local, regional or international in origin
  • It should be stressed that Mr. Muller's brief is to ensure that both existing and potential clients, are 'one step ahead' of ANY security needs which may be called for, based on his longevity and expertise in Asia. He notes that the security, investigation and protection business is the fastest growing business sectors in the world, so he must anticipate the needs of Thais and foreign companies alike.
  • EDUCATION / MILITARY BACKGROUND

  • Mr. Muller holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the prestigious University of Washington in Seattle
    .
  • Mr. Muller served with distinction in Vietnam 1969 / 70 involved 'hands on' with many secret and special operations in-country.
  • Of note, he provided VIP protection for senior Department of Defense operatives during this period.
  • Mr. Muller was promoted to Captain with the Washington State Guard, Air Force Support Group, 1983 – 86

To be followed, by a posting with the U.S. Department of Defense, Air Force responsible for supervising physical security at restricted and active military facilities in Central Australia.  

BUSINESS RESUME

  • From 1991 - 1994, Mr. Muller was the Indochina Manager for CIRCLE FREIGHT INTERNATIONAL - this innovative task involved directing the largest logistics contract for the UN Mission In Cambodia (UNMIC) and The UN Transitional Authority in Cambodia (UNTAC).
  • UNTAC was considered the U.N.'s largest and most successful field mission, based in Phnom Penh.
  • In 1995, Mr. Muller co-founded the very first private security company in Cambodia, MPA INTERNATIONAL LTD.,
  • Simultaneously, he undertook 'pioneered' security surveys in Afghanistan for the United Nations.
  • In 2003, he traveled to Iraq and was responsible for training Iraqi police employed by the Ministry of Power to become International Bodyguard Association ( IBA) certified bodyguards.

     
    A SENIOR SECURITY EXECUTIVE OF DISTINCTION
  • Mr. Muller is a noted speaker at various Asian regional meetings and forums pertaining to all aspects of today's security needs.
  • He is Chairman of the Security Committee of the American Chamber  of Commerce in Thailand.
  • To add to his reputation within the security industry, Mr. Muller is also the Thailand Country Council for the US State Department’s Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC).
  • Currently, he is Deputy Director General for the International Bodyguard Association (www.ibabodyguards.com).
  • And is also a member of the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS)
  • In his few spare moments, Mr. Muller is an Honorary member of The Royal Thai Special Forces and a life member of the U.S. Special  Forces Association – Chapter III in Thailand.
  • Married to a Thai National for more than 29 years,  Mr. Muller has a daughter just graduated from the University of Washington.   
  • Mr. Muller is a world renowned expert in VIP protection, security, business in Southeast Asia and is often consulted on due-diligence and other business-security issues.  Mr. Muller has numerous commendations from the U.S. Embassy, U.S. Department of State, the FBI, Thai, Cambodian and other nation’s police on his work throughout the years in the region.
  • Memberships: ASIS, OSAC, Special Forces Association Thailand and International Bodyguard Association (badge no 2005).

John Muller is the OSAC Country Council for Thailand.

 

Overseas Security Advisory Council
The Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC) was established in 1985 by the U.S. Department of State to foster the exchange of security related information between the U.S. Government and American private sector operating abroad. Administered by the Bureau of Diplomatic Security, OSAC has developed into an enormously successful joint venture for effective security cooperation. Through OSAC, the American private sector, including colleges and universities, is provided timely information on which to make informed corporate decisions on how best to protect their investment, facilities, personnel and intellectual property abroad.
